The efforts of the military and government leadership to resolve the electrical problem and revitalize the economy are beginning to bear fruit. In the course of the ongoing campaign against energy theft, approximately 83,000 people have been arrested nationwide and Rs103 billion have been collected.
More than Rs1.8 billion was retrieved from energy thieves in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, and Islamabad between June 23 and June 30, according to competent agencies. Furthermore, recovery of Rs 603.5 million was made from Peshawar, Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Quetta.
The authorities are determined to keep up their efforts until power theft is completely eradicated across the country. This effort is a component of the government’s larger plan to stabilize the economy and raise the performance of the electricity industry.
