Rexha, 34, originally achieved fame as a songwriter. Among her many hit compositions are those for Nick Jonas, Tyler Hubbard, Selena Gomez, and Eminem. Three of her own studio albums have been published, and she has also contributed to other chart-topping singles.
In a series of posts, the “Say My Name” singer—who has been signed to Warner Records since her debut—said she might “bring down a BIG chunk of this industry”.
I’m irritated. It has undercut me. I haven’t said anything in such a long time,” Rexha wrote. “People keep bringing up the indicators, and they have been SO OBVIOUS, but I haven’t seen them.
And this industry has silenced me and punished me when I have spoken up.
Either things have to change, or I’m speaking the whole truth. The positive, negative, and ugly.
News reached out to Rexha’s reps for comment, but they did not get back to them right away.
“Again?” she said in response to a fan who questioned “what happened again” You’ve only heard five percent. You’re clueless.”
