LAHORE: According to sources who spoke to News, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to grant the team’s captain Babar Azam, star pacer Shaheen Afridi, and wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan their no-objection certificates (NOCs) so they can play in the Global T20 Canada League.
The sources further stated that the board has indeed gotten in touch with the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the tournament’s affiliation, and the decision to issue the NOCs will be decided upon upon receiving the ICC’s response.
This happened after a number of players asked the PCB for permission to play in different international cricket leagues.
Twelve cricket players received the necessary NOCs one day prior to their participation in various competitions worldwide.
While some of the players on the list are under contract with Pakistan, others haven’t appeared for the Green Shirts in a while.
Seven Pakistani cricket players have been selected by a number of Global T20 Canada League teams.
This comprises Mohammad Amir, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, and Asif Ali.
The Vancouver Knights have selected Babar, Asif, Amir, and Rizwan; Shaheen and Nawaz will play for the Toronto Nationals; and Iftikhar will play for the Bangla Tigers Mississauga.
