Rainy Tuesday, I’m not sure what to expect from Menswear Spring/Summer 25 when I hop on my Eurostar from St Pancras.
This time, among the regular group of bleary-eyed London commuters, are sunglass-wearing models and stressed-out-looking PR people who are frantically attempting to catch up on their emails.
Paris has changed over the years from being known for its art and romanticism to becoming a shrewd financial center, but one thing it has remained committed to is being home to one of the world’s most amazing fashion scenes.
As one stylist told me, “It’s a fashion week afterparty; of course we have to go in wearing sunglasses.” While surrounded by at least fifteen Russian models, Parisians take their dedication to the cause extremely seriously. Twice a year, fashion-forward companies from across the globe temporarily occupy historic buildings out of a passion for fashion.
One such structure is the Unesco building, which is the location of the launch of Louis Vuitton’s latest collection, which was designed by Pharrell Williams.
Given that this is one of the most renowned luxury companies globally, the atmosphere at the exhibition is equally exciting.
As spectators line up down the block, squeezing past obstacles and perching on tree trunks, whispers about a celebrity appearance reverberate across the streets.
