Police in Lahore have discovered a human trafficking network that kidnaps females and forces them into prostitution. Three suspects, one of whom was a woman, were apprehended as a result of the operation, and three girls were saved from Faisalabad.
DIG Imran Kishwar led the Organized Crime Unit operation that resulted in the recovery of three females from Faisalabad. During a news conference, Kishore disclosed, “The group used to send girls to prostitution centers and collected Rs70,000 per month.”
The ringleader, Mumtaz, was a lady who enticed the victims, who had vanished from various parts of Lahore. Kishwar clarified, “Mumtaz targeted girls who had left their homes out of anger.” After that, the girls were forced into the sex trade.
It was uncovered by authorities that the gang had used forged marriage papers to justify their kidnappings. The victims were tricked and their sale into prostitution was facilitated by the certificates.
Based on the information provided by the defendants who were arrested, the investigation is still ongoing, and efforts are being made to find and rescue further victims. “We are committed to dismantling this network and ensuring justice for the victims,” Kishwar stated.
