DUSHANBE: President Emomali Rahmon invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to a two-day official visit to Tajikistan, and he was greeted with a guard of honor on Tuesday.
Top Tajik officials, including Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, Energy Minister Daler Juma, and others, met the premier at the airport in Dushanbe. Senior diplomatic officers and Pakistan’s ambassador to Dushanbe, Saeed Sarwar, were also there.
The prime minister was greeted by President Rehmon on Tuesday upon his arrival at Tajikistan’s presidential residence, Qasr-e-Millat. The prime minister stood at the saluting dias while both nations’ national anthems were played.
The honor guard was given by well-groomed Tajik military contingents, which PM Shehbaz observed.
Afterwards, President Rahmon and Prime Minister Shehbaz presented their respective delegations to one another.
The PM’s delegation includes Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar.
