Salman Naseer, the CEO of the Pakistan Super League, stated on Thursday that the league hopes to grow from six to eight teams following the 2025 season.
Due to security concerns, the PSL was first held in the United Arab Emirates in 2016. It is currently being held in Pakistan with the goal of enhancing its competitiveness and commercial appeal.
With broadcast and sponsorship rights up for sale, the anticipated expansion coincides with a significant commercial turning point for the PSL.
With Peshawar hosting its maiden exhibition match as a prelude to full PSL matches, PSL 2026 will also welcome new locales. In addition, the trophy will make its first national tour, bringing the competition to cities that are not hosts.
